PlayItUp

Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how PlayItUp handles information when you use the app on iOS or Android. It distinguishes information that stays on your device from information processed by advertising, consent, and app-store services.

PlayItUp is a general-audience collection of offline games. It does not require an account, and its core gameplay works without an internet connection. Advertising, privacy-choice updates, and purchases require communication with third-party services.

Who operates PlayItUp

PlayItUp is operated by DevItUp ("DevItUp", "we", "us", or "our").

Information stored only on your device

PlayItUp stores the following information locally so that the app can remember your progress and preferences:

  • saved and recoverable game states;
  • game starts, completed plays, wins, scores, fastest times, and last-played dates;
  • achievements and in-game progress milestones;
  • favourite games and the five most recently played games;
  • total, daily, and best-day active play time;
  • sound, haptic, theme, motion, and accessibility preferences;
  • reminder settings, whether the reminder prompt was accepted or declined, the last meaningful play time, the scheduled reminder time, and a suggested game;
  • local advertising-control information, including counts of ad opportunities, ads shown, rewarded-ad outcomes, failures, cooldown times, and short random run identifiers used to prevent a reward from being claimed twice; and
  • the app's local data-format version.

This gameplay and preference information is not sent to DevItUp, Unity LevelPlay, Google UMP, an analytics service, or a PlayItUp server. DevItUp does not operate an account system, cloud-save service, gameplay analytics backend, or remote notification service for PlayItUp.

The local records do not contain your name, email address, postal address, contacts, photos, precise location, or payment-card details. Device backup and restoration may be handled by your operating system or platform settings; Android backup is disabled in the current app configuration.

Advertising and advertising partners

PlayItUp uses Unity LevelPlay, also known as ironSource, to load and display full-screen interstitial and rewarded advertisements. The app does not use banner ads. LevelPlay also includes Unity's Ad Quality component for advertising quality, performance, and diagnostic functions.

LevelPlay is an advertising mediation service. Depending on DevItUp's LevelPlay dashboard configuration, location, consent choices, available inventory, and other factors, an ad request may be handled by Unity/ironSource demand or by another advertising partner selected through LevelPlay. The app currently bundles no separate mediated-network adapter SDKs. If DevItUp adds one, this policy and the store disclosures must be updated before release.

When advertising is active, Unity and participating advertising partners may process information such as:

  • device or app identifiers, including an advertising identifier where the operating system and your choices permit it;
  • IP address and approximate location inferred from it;
  • device, operating-system, language, app-version, and network information;
  • advertising data, such as ads requested, available, displayed, completed, dismissed, or clicked;
  • interaction with the advertising experience; and
  • advertising SDK performance and diagnostic information.

They use this information to deliver ads, limit or personalize ads where permitted, measure advertising, report performance, detect fraud and abuse, maintain security, and diagnose or improve their services. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies, including the Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. An ad itself may provide access to the relevant advertiser's privacy information.

DevItUp may receive aggregated advertising and revenue reports through LevelPlay. PlayItUp does not send its locally stored game saves, scores, favourites, achievements, recents, reminder history, or play-time records to LevelPlay.

Advertising identifiers and tracking

Advertising services may use device-level identifiers. On Android this can include the Android advertising ID or other device/app identifiers. On iOS this can include an app- or vendor-scoped identifier and, only where Apple permits it, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).

Some advertising uses may constitute "tracking", such as linking information from PlayItUp with information from other companies' apps, websites, or offline sources for targeted advertising or advertising measurement. PlayItUp does not itself build cross-app profiles, but an advertising partner may do so only where allowed by law, platform rules, and your choices.

You may still receive contextual or limited ads when personalized advertising or tracking is not allowed. Those ads can still require an IP address, device/app information, ad-interaction information, and security or diagnostic processing.

App Tracking Transparency on iOS

On iOS, PlayItUp includes Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) control. The app does not show the Apple prompt automatically during gameplay. You may choose to open it from Settings → Privacy & Permissions when the permission has not yet been decided.

If you allow tracking, iOS may make the IDFA available to eligible advertising SDKs for advertising and measurement. If you deny tracking, the IDFA is not made available for tracking and partners must not track you as defined by Apple's rules. ATT is separate from the advertising choices presented by UMP. You can later change the ATT setting in the iOS Settings app.

Purchases

PlayItUp offers a one-time, lifetime Remove Ads purchase with product identifier playitup.remove_ads.

Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit 2 on iOS and by Google Play Billing on Android. Apple or Google handles your store account, payment method, transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, and purchase records under its own terms and privacy policy. DevItUp and PlayItUp do not receive your payment-card details.

The app requests the product name and local price and checks the store's current purchase entitlement. It receives enough transaction or ownership status to complete, acknowledge where required, restore, and verify the Remove Ads entitlement. PlayItUp has no separate purchase server and does not add purchase analytics.

After the store confirms ownership, PlayItUp suppresses interstitial ads. Existing optional rewarded gameplay benefits remain available, with the same per-run limits, but no ad is shown. The entitlement is restored from the applicable store account rather than from a DevItUp account.

See Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy for their handling of store and payment information.

Notifications

PlayItUp can ask for permission to schedule an optional local inactivity reminder after you have completed at least three game sessions. If enabled, completing a game schedules one reminder on your device for seven days after that play. A later completed game replaces the pending reminder and moves it forward.

The reminder, its schedule, the suggested game, and related preferences are created and stored on your device. DevItUp does not send this information to a server and does not use remote push notifications. Android may retain the scheduled reminder across a device restart through the local-notification system.

You can turn reminders off in Settings → Privacy & Permissions or disable notification permission in your device settings.

Children's privacy

PlayItUp is a general-audience app and is configured as not directed to children under 13. The app does not ask for a birth date and does not technically prevent a child from using it. It does not require an account or ask users to submit names, contact details, or other profile information.

DevItUp does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through a PlayItUp account or profile; the app has neither. If you believe information about a child has been provided to DevItUp, contact [email protected]. Advertising partners have their own obligations and controls for child-directed treatment. Parents and guardians should also review the device's advertising, tracking, purchase, and notification controls.

Data sharing

DevItUp does not sell the local gameplay information described above and does not transmit it to third parties. Information may leave the device only through the third-party functions described in this policy:

  • Unity LevelPlay/ironSource, Unity Ad Quality, and advertising demand or mediation partners for advertising, measurement, security, fraud prevention, quality, and diagnostics;
  • Google UMP for consent and privacy-message operation;
  • Apple App Store/StoreKit or Google Play/Play Billing for product information, purchases, entitlement checks, and restoration; and
  • public authorities or other parties, but only if DevItUp is legally required to disclose information it holds (such as a privacy-support email or a store or advertising report), or disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

DevItUp selects third-party providers whose published commitments and applicable contractual terms require appropriate protection of information. Each provider remains responsible for its own processing under its privacy policy.

Data retention

Local PlayItUp data remains on the device until you clear it in the app, uninstall or reset the app where the operating system removes it, or the app replaces it during normal use. The local advertising claim ledger is limited to the most recent 100 entries. One pending inactivity reminder is retained until it fires, is replaced, or is cancelled.

DevItUp does not retain a remote copy of your local gameplay profile because it has no PlayItUp account or gameplay backend. Unity, Google, Apple, and any participating advertising partner retain information for the periods described in their own policies, including as needed for advertising, transactions, reporting, security, legal obligations, or dispute resolution. DevItUp does not control those independent retention periods.

Data security

PlayItUp limits its own records to local app storage and uses the official platform stores for payments. Advertising, consent, and store communications are handled by their native SDKs and platform services. Unity states that the data covered by its Google Play LevelPlay disclosure is encrypted in transit.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device with its available passcode, biometric, update, and access controls.

Your choices and withdrawing consent

You can:

  • keep using all core games if you decline advertising consent or iOS tracking permission;
  • review available advertising choices through Settings → Privacy & Permissions → Manage privacy choices;
  • change iOS tracking permission in iOS Settings;
  • turn local reminders off in PlayItUp or disable notifications in device settings;
  • use Clear saved games to remove incomplete games and rescue checkpoints while keeping scores and preferences;
  • use Reset all PlayItUp data to clear gameplay data, preferences, reminder history, and local advertising counters; and
  • purchase Remove Ads or restore an existing purchase through the applicable app store.

Withdrawing a choice affects future processing. It does not automatically erase information that a third party lawfully processed before the change.

Data deletion

PlayItUp has no DevItUp account or remote gameplay profile to delete. You can remove local gameplay information using the controls in Settings, or by deleting/resetting the app where supported by your device. You may also need to remove any platform backup separately through your Apple or Google account settings.

Advertising consent choices are managed through PlayItUp's Privacy & Permissions screen where UMP makes that option available. iOS tracking permission is managed through iOS Settings. For information already held by Unity or an advertiser, use the choices or privacy link shown in the ad, follow the request process in the provider's privacy policy, or contact [email protected] for help identifying the relevant provider.

Apple and Google maintain purchase records under their own legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and store policies. Those records are not ordinary local PlayItUp data and cannot be deleted by DevItUp. Requests concerning store records must be directed to Apple or Google.

International processing

Unity, Google, Apple, and advertising partners operate internationally. Information they process may be stored or handled in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States and, for parts of Unity/ironSource operations, Israel. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. The relevant provider describes its transfer safeguards and legal bases in its privacy policy.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PlayItUp, its third-party services, or legal requirements change. We will update the "Last updated" date when we publish a revised version. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel where required.
