Getting comfortable

Little questions, answered.

Does LittleBook require an iPhone Duo?

No. LittleBook works on conventional iPhones running iOS 27 or later, in portrait with a virtual lid, desktop, keyboard and trackpad. On iPhone Duo, portrait tabletop posture places the desktop above the fold and the keyboard and trackpad below it. Duo’s folding layouts use iOS 27.1 or later. Unfolding and rotating Duo to landscape gives you a larger desktop with direct touch and the iOS keyboard when needed. LittleBook is a desktop simulator, not a replacement operating system, and cannot run native macOS apps.

How do I open and close LittleBook?

On a regular iPhone, tap the virtual lid at “Tap to open”. To close it, open the LittleBook menu at the top left of the miniature desktop and choose Close LittleBook. Closing saves your documents; reopening resumes your session. Switching apps or returning from the background keeps the lid state. A fresh launch after quitting starts closed. On iPhone Duo, the physical device’s posture controls opening and closing.

How does the virtual trackpad work?

Drag one finger to move the desktop pointer; tap to click supported app controls and double-tap where appropriate, such as opening a file. Hold briefly, then drag to draw in LittlePaint. Drag with two fingers to scroll. You can also touch the desktop directly. In LittleBrowser, the trackpad scrolls webpages; links and forms are accessed by directly touching the screen. Trackpad clicks do not activate webpage content. Duo’s landscape Desktop Mode uses direct touch without the virtual keyboard deck or trackpad.

Why do some LittleBook apps require iOS permissions?

Permissions connect the little apps to real iPhone features: Photos for library browsing, Calendars to view and manage events, location for local weather, and Music for your library. LittlePaint separately asks for add-only Photos access when you export a drawing. Requests happen when you choose the relevant feature. You can decline and continue using other apps. Review access in iOS Settings; LittleBook’s Settings → Privacy & Permissions shows the current status. Read how these features handle information.

Why isn’t LittleWeather showing the forecast?

Choose Search for City and select a result, or choose Use My Location and allow location access. City search works without location permission. Check your internet connection and use Refresh Weather. Apple WeatherKit must be available and authorised for the app; location permission alone does not enable that service. If an error mentions WeatherKit authorisation, contact us with the exact message. After a failed refresh, an earlier report may remain visible with its observation time and an out-of-date notice.

How do I connect my calendar or photo library?

In LittleCalendar, choose Connect Calendars and allow Full Access to see existing events and create, edit or delete events in writable calendars. You can browse dates without connecting. In LittlePhotos, choose Choose Photo Access. Limited Access shows only your selected photographs; Full Access also enables browsing albums. Use the photo selection control to change the permitted selection, or iOS Settings to change access. The one-photo wallpaper picker in Settings → Wallpaper is separate from library browsing. An iCloud-only photo may need an internet connection to open.

How do I purchase LittleBook Pro?

Open LittleBook’s Settings → LittleBook Pro. Once the App Store loads the product, choose Unlock LittleBook Pro beside your local price, then confirm through Apple’s purchase sheet. It is an optional one-time purchase, with no subscription or advertisements. Pro unlocks premium personalisation; all core apps remain free. If the store cannot load, check your connection and choose Try Again. A purchase waiting for approval unlocks after Apple approves it. No purchases take place on this website.

How do I restore a purchase?

Use the Apple Account that purchased LittleBook Pro, then open Settings → LittleBook Pro → Restore Purchases in the app. Follow any Apple sign-in prompt and keep an internet connection available. LittleBook asks Apple to sync purchases and checks verified ownership. If no purchase is found, check the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Contact us if it still does not restore. For refund requests, see Apple’s refund guidance.

How do I use LittleTunes?

Open LittleTunes and choose Connect Music Library, then allow Music access. LittleTunes browses your saved songs, albums, artists and playlists using Apple’s Music service. Purchased or synced songs can play without an Apple Music subscription; Apple Music catalogue songs require the appropriate subscription and playback rights. If a song will not play, check it in Apple’s Music app, check your account and connection, and refresh the library. Music access can also be restricted by iOS settings.

Can I connect my email account to LittleMail?

LittleMail is a fictional offline inbox with handcrafted letters that arrive over time. It does not connect to email accounts, read your real email or send messages. Its read state and delivery schedule stay on your device.

How do I get help with an issue?

Email [email protected] for bugs, purchase issues, suggestions, general questions or accessibility problems. Include your iPhone model, iOS and LittleBook versions, what happened, and the steps to reproduce it. A screenshot can help; remove private photos, calendar details or other sensitive information first. For an accessibility issue, tell us which feature or assistive technology you were using. Never send Apple Account passwords or payment-card details.
